Quite often a change in business is both necessary and a good thing. It happened to Manifattura Modenese, Rovereto s/Secchia Novi di Modena (Italy), named from a firm established by Gino and Iorio Grulli’s parents in the 50’s. Their business was wood shaving and chips processing in the headwear and footwear manufacturing. In mid ‘70s some difficulties caused by a slump pushed Gino, Iorio and his wife Anna Cattalini to start a new business in trimmings for the clothing industry.
From the very beginning Gino, today helped by his son Federico, has been taking care of manufacturing, Iorio of technical aspects of the sample collection, while Anna, a fashion designer and the actual creative mind of the team, was in charge of pattern design. Daughter Sara is in charge of export and trade shows; in number of European countries and for a lot of successful clothing manufacturers items by Manifattura Modenese are bought to trim garments. "Our company – Anna Cattalini stated – has been working in the trimming industry for years, to manufacture both sophisticated haute-couture and for mass market items, the latter sold in big department stores. For all of them quality, fashion trends and price are a top priority.
